Market Your Business -- Socially!

Should social media be a part of your business strategy? Do you even have a choice? Are you using social media, like LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter? According to a Universal McCann 2008 study, 272 million people are using social media. Of those 272 million, 77% are reading blogs and approximately 34% of them are posting opinions about companies and brands on their profiles/blogs. How many times is your company mentioned each day? Some executives have successfully led initiatives to use social media to build and maintain their brand. Other executives may be unsure of the benefit of social media, but are concerned about managing their organization’s reputation. With any new technology there are challenges and risks to manage during the adoption process. This panel of experts will propose key success factors that lead to value for business, identify risks to avoid, and initiate a dialog regarding the legal and ethical issues associated with these new technologies. Panelist include: Aric Bandy, IT consultant and entrepreneur, Chad Weinstein, Director of the Hill Center for Ethical Business Leadership and Jeff Rich, VP of Marketing at the College of St Scholastica. Moderated by Dr Kurt Linberg, Dean, School of Business and Technology, College of St Scholastica.
