The Hill Library is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is privately financed through a modest endowment, memberships, sponsorships, and donations. The Hill Library does not receive any government funding for operations.
For nearly 100 years, from its historic location in St. Paul, the Hill Library has provided the Twin Cities community with world-class reference library services at no cost. In recent years, entrepreneurs and businesses world-wide have taken advantage of Hill Library's free or low-cost online programs providing access to premium business information as well as the expertise of our experienced library staff.
With your help, the Hill Library will be able to continue to provide vital business information to the entrepreneurial community long into the future. Basic Annual Membership: $75
As a ‘thank you’ for supporting the Hill Library with your Basic Membership, along with your membership package, you will receive:
- A James J. Hill Reference Library coffee mug; and
- Discounts to seminars/events at the Hill Library.
HillSearch Member: $650
HillSearch Members help support our general operations and the development of innovative products to enable users throughout the world to access our resources and expertise online. In addition to the mug, magazine subscriptions and event discounts described above, HillSearch members gain online access to the HillSearch collection of premium information sources along with the assistance of our business information specialists.
Empire Builder Membership: $1,000
Our Empire Builder members are the key to the continued growth of the Hill Library and the preservation of the historic James J. Hill Reference Library building. As an Empire Builder member, you'll receive:
- A James J. Hill Reference Library coffee mug;
- One-year subscription to Inc. and Fast Company magazines;
- Free admission to most seminars and training sessions;
- Free parking (1-hour per visit, max six per year);
- Personal appointment with a librarian; and
-Two hours of use of the Empire Builder room (subject to availability);
Empire Builder members also will be honored with an engraved brass plaque placed on one of the chairs in the Reading Room.
